Expert Advice | The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Depout to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back. If your doctor asks you to stop Depout, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly. Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Depout, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Depout is very less. It may be extremely dangerous in overdose. |
Common Side Effect | Sleepiness, Blurred vision, Increased heart rate, Dryness in mouth, Constipation, Weight gain, Difficulty in urination, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing). |
How to Use | Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Depout Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. |
Driving | Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Depout Tablet may impair your alertness which may affect your ability to drive. |
Kidney | Depout Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Depout Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. |
Liver | Depout Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Depout Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Depout Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. |
