Pregnancy Interaction Vitalpha C Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Vitalpha C Tablet is safe to use during lactation. \nHuman studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Expert Advice Do not take alfacalcidol if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to alfacalcidol or any of the other ingredients. Do not take alfacalcidol if you know you have a condition called hypercalcemia (increased calcium level in blood) or calcification (high levels of calcium in body tissues).Consult your doctor before taking alfacalcidol if you have any problems with your kidneys, particularly kidney stones.
Common Side Effect Rash, Increased calcium level in blood, Increased phosphate level in blood, Itching, Renal disorder.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Vitalpha C Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Vitalpha C Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Vitalpha C Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Vitalpha C Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Vitalpha C Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Vitalpha C Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
