Pregnancy Interaction Trizolac Tablet VT may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Trizolac Tablet VT should be used with caution during lactation. \nBreast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.If a single dose of Trizolac Tablet VT is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.
Common Side Effect Application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching and redness).
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash and dry your vaginal area. Dip the tablet in lukewarm water just to moisten it. Lie on your back and gently insert the tablet into the vagina as high as possible with or without the use of an applicator as mentioned in the label. It is best to use it just before bedtime.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Trizolac Tablet VT may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Trizolac Tablet VT in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Trizolac Tablet VT is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Trizolac Tablet VT may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Trizolac Tablet VT is a combination of three medicines: Clotrimazole, Lactobacillus and Tinidazole which treat vaginal infections.tClotrimazole is an antifungal medicine which stop the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use.
