Pregnancy Interaction Thyrocab 20mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Thyrocab 20mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. \nHuman studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.The American Thyroid Association also recommends monitoring babies for appropriate growth and development during routine pediatric check-ups.
Expert Advice Do not take carbimazole, if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to carbimazole or any of the other ingredients in formulation or other anti-thyroid medicines such as thiamazole, methimazole or propylthiouracil.Avoid taking carbimazole, if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding.Do not take carbimazole, if you have a severe liver disorder; serious blood disorder; large thyroid swelling in your neck; if you are receiving radio-iodine.
Common Side Effect Skin rash, Headache, Skin pigmentation, Pain, Joint stiffness, Nausea, Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation), Hair loss.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Thyrocab 20mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Thyrocab 20mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Thyrocab 20mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Thyrocab 20mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Thyrocab 20mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine. Use of Thyrocab 20mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action Thyrocab 20mg Tablet is an anti-thyroid medication. It works by reducing the amount of thyroid hormones produced by the thyroid gland.
