Alchohol Interaction Taking aceclofenac with alcohol may increase risk of stomach bleeding.
Pregnancy Interaction Thiox OD 8mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Thiox OD 8mg Capsule during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Heartburn, Stomach pain / epigastric pain, Loss of appetite, Diarrhoea.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Thiox OD 8mg Capsule is to be taken with food.This will help to avoid acidity and heartburn.
Driving Thiox OD 8mg Capsule may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Thiox OD 8mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Thiox OD 8mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Thiox OD 8mg Capsule is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver Thiox OD 8mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Thiox OD 8mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Thiox OD 8mg Capsule is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is advisable while the patient is taking this medicine.
Mechanism of action Thiox OD 8mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Aceclofenac and Thiocolchicoside, which relieve pain and relax the muscles. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles.
