| Lactation Interaction | SWELINEX PLUS GEL is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of SWELINEX PLUS GEL via licking. |
| Expert Advice | Life threatening skin reaction can occur with the use of piroxicam topical. Consult a doctor if you have any signs of allergic reactions. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Piroxicam topical may increase the sensitivity of the skin to sunlight. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when exposure to the sun is unavoidable. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. It should not take if patient is allergic to piroxicam, aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or any of its ingredients. |
| How to Use | Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Apply it on the affected area and allow it to stay before spitting or rinsing. |

| Mechanism of action | SWELINEX PLUS GEL is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of prostaglandin, that causes allergy symptoms and inflammation (swelling and redness). |
