Pregnancy Interaction Spascol 5 mg/1 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Spascol 5 mg/1 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Constipation, Dryness in mouth, Weight gain, Sleepiness, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Dizziness, Blurred vision, Difficulty in urination.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Spascol 5 mg/1 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food, if it causes stomach upset.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Spascol 5 mg/1 mg Tablet make u feel dizzy, drowsy or can cause blurred vision. This may affect your driving ability.

Mechanism of action Spascol 5 mg/1 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Isopropamide and Trifluoperazine. Isopropamide is an anticholinergic which works by blocking the binding of the acetylcholine (a chemical messenger) to its receptor in nerve cells. This relaxes the smooth muscles in the digestive tract and decreases the spasms. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
