Mechanism of action Safelax Powder is a combination of six medicines: Dimethicone, Polyethylene Glycol, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Chloride and Safelax Powder6. Dimethicone is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas. Polyethylene Glycol is a laxative that works by drawing water into the intestine, making the stools soft and easier to pass. Potassium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate and Sodium Chloride are added to balance the fluid levels in your digestive system to further relieve constipation.
