Alchohol Interaction Taking Hydrochlorothiazide with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy Interaction Repalol H Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Repalol H Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Altered taste, Diarrhoea, Stomach upset, Headache, Dizziness, Cold extremities, Weakness, Numbness of extremity, Increased uric acid level in blood, Increased blood lipid level, Decreased magnesium level in blood, Slow heart rate, Decreased sodium level in blood, Decreased blood pressure.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Repalol H Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Driving Repalol H Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Repalol H Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Repalol H Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended and can help in better dose adjustment.
Liver Repalol H Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Repalol H Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Repalol H Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Losartan, Atenolol and Hydrochlorothiazide which lower blood pressure effectively. Losartan is a calcium channel blocker which works by blocking the hormone angiotensin to relax blood vessels, while Atenolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow.
