Alchohol Interaction Rekof Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction Rekof Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Rekof Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Stomach discomfort, Sleepiness, Nervousness, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Restlessness, Dizziness, Headache.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rekof Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.
Driving Rekof Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Rekof Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Rekof Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Rekof Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Rekof Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Pseudoephedrine, Chlorpheniramine and Dextromethorphan which relieve dry cough. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain.
