Expert Advice You have been prescribed Rafacol to decrease the inflammation (swelling) in the intestines. Take it by mouth in the morning, with or without food, with a full glass of water. It has fewer side effects as compared to other steroid medicines. Do not stop taking it abruptly. Dosage will be tapered or reduced gradually by your doctor.
Common Side Effect Headache, Nausea, Abdominal pain, Tiredness, Flatulence, Abdominal distension, Urinary tract infection, Acne, Joint pain, Constipation.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR is to be taken with food.
Driving Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease as the data available in these patients is very limited.
Mechanism of action Rafacol 9mg Tablet CR is a corticosteroid. It works by stopping the release of certain natural substances in the intestine that are responsible for inflammation.
