Alchohol Interaction Quranox 1.5gm Injection may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy Interaction Quranox 1.5gm Injection is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Quranox 1.5gm Injection is safe to use during lactation. \nHuman studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Common Side Effect Diarrhoea, Altered liver function test, Allergic reaction, Anemia (low number of red blood cells).
How to Use Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Driving It is not known whether Quranox 1.5gm Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Quranox 1.5gm Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver There is limited information available on the use of Quranox 1.5gm Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Quranox 1.5gm Injection is a combination of two medicines: Cefoperazone and Sulbactam. Cefoperazone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefoperazone against bacteria.
