Alchohol Interaction Taking Eplerenone with alcohol may lead to headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, changes in pulse or heart rate and/or low blood pressure.
Pregnancy Interaction Planep 25mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Planep 25mg Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Expert Advice Avoid potassium-rich supplements or salt substitutes when taking Planep. Notify your doctor if you experience dizziness, diarrhoea, vomiting, fast or irregular heartbeat, swelling in feet, or difficulty breathing. It is important to get blood pressure and potassium levels checked regularly when taking Planep. Do not take medicines such as ketoconazole, clarithromycin, nefazodone, ritonavir, and nelfinavir along with Planep.
Common Side Effect Dizziness, Diarrhoea, Nausea, Cough, Flu-like symptoms, Fatigue, Increased potassium level in blood, Increased creatinine level in blood.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Planep 25mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Planep 25mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Planep 25mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Planep 25mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Planep 25mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver Planep 25mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Planep 25mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Planep 25mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease as the data available is limited.
Mechanism of action Planep 25mg Tablet is a potassium-sparing diuretic. It lowers blood pressure and swelling by removing the extra water and electrolytes from the body without loss of potassium.
