| Mechanism of action | Glunorm Tablet is a combination of three medicines: metformin, pioglitazone and picolinic acid. tMetformin is an anti-diabetic medication (biguanide). It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which further increases body's sensitivity to insulin. Picolinic acid is a nutritional supplement that improves insulin function. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar. |
