Common Side Effect Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level), Edema (swelling), Weight gain, Bone fracture, Blurred vision, Respiratory tract infection.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Path G 15mg/2mg Capsule is to be taken with food.
Driving Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is low or high. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Path G 15mg/2mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Path G 15mg/2mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Path G 15mg/2mg Capsule is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. These patients can experience very low blood sugar levels which may become normal after a long time.
Liver Path G 15mg/2mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Path G 15mg/2mg Capsule may be needed. Mechanism of action Path G 15mg/2mg Capsule is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Pioglitazone and glimepiride. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which works by increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.
