| Lactation Interaction | Oxepin 10mg Capsule is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.The baby should be monitored carefully for excessive sleepiness, and adequate weight gain. |
| Expert Advice | The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Oxepin to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back. If your doctor asks you to stop Oxepin, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly. Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Oxepin, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Oxepin is very less. It may be extremely dangerous in overdose. |
| Common Side Effect | Sleepiness, Blurred vision, Increased heart rate, Weight gain, Dryness in mouth, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Constipation, Difficulty in urination. |
| How to Use | Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Oxepin 10mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. |
| Driving | Oxepin 10mg Capsule may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive. |
| Kidney | Oxepin 10mg Capsule is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Oxepin 10mg Capsule is recommended.However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. |
| Liver | Oxepin 10mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Oxepin 10mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor. |
