Pregnancy Interaction Osteomet Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Osteomet Injection is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Expert Advice Taken once a year by a 15-minute infusion. Take calcium and vitamin D to help build your bones when taking Osteomet. Do not take during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Osteomet. Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw. This problem may be seen after dental work. Your doctor will monitor your response to Osteomet by testing your bone mineral density (BMD). This is usually done every 1-3 years. Some patients develop fever or flu-like symptoms, such as chills, tiredness and weakness. These symptoms are usually mild-moderate and should go away after a few days. May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, and pain in bones, joints and muscles. May cause atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm). Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem.
Common Side Effect Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Headache, Heartburn, Difficulty in swallowing.
How to Use Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Driving Osteomet Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Osteomet Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver There is limited information available on the use of Osteomet Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Osteomet Injection is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.
