Pregnancy Interaction Orex M Gel may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Orex M Gel is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Orex M Gel via licking.
Common Side Effect Metallic taste, Nausea, Application site redness, Dryness, Irritation, Staining of teeth, Burning sensation at the site of application.
How to Use Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Apply it on the affected area and allow it to stay before spitting or rinsing.
Driving Orex M Gel does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Orex M Gel is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Orex M Gel may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Mechanism of action Orex M Gel is a combination of two medicines: Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Metronidazole Topical. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant. It works by binding to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, tartar and other mouth infections. Metronidazole Topical is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.
