Pregnancy Interaction Olmewon AM 20 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Olmewon AM 20 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Altered taste, Diarrhoea, Stomach upset, Ankle swelling, Headache, Dizziness, Weakness, Numbness of extremity, Edema (swelling), Flushing of skin, Increased potassium level in blood, Decreased blood pressure.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Olmewon AM 20 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Olmewon AM 20 Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney Olmewon AM 20 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Olmewon AM 20 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advisable for dose adjustment.
Liver Olmewon AM 20 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Olmewon AM 20 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Olmewon AM 20 Tablet is started at a lower dose in patients with liver disease and further increased slowly with careful monitoring.
Mechanism of action Olmewon AM 20 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Olmesartan and Amlodipine which lower blood pressure effectively. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). They work by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
