Pregnancy Interaction Nepzil 10mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Nepzil 10mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Expert Advice Do not take donepezil hydrochloride, if you are allergic to donepezil hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Avoid using donepezil hydrochloride, if you are breastfeeding. Doctor’s advice should be considered in case of patients with following history of disease conditions: stomach or duodenal ulcers; seizures (fits) or convulsions; heart condition (irregular or very slow heart beat); asthma or other long term lung disease; liver problems or hepatitis; urine or mild kidney disease. Do not use donepezil hydrochloride, if you are pregnant. Donepezil hydrochloride is not intended for use in children and adolescents younger than 18 years. Donepezil hydrochloride should not be taken with alcohol because alcohol may change its effect. Do not drive or operate machinery.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite, Fatigue, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Diarrhoea, Muscle cramp.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Nepzil 10mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Alzheimer’s disease may impair your ability to drive unless your doctor tells you that it is safe to do so. Also, your medicine can cause tiredness, dizziness and muscle cramp.
Kidney Nepzil 10mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Nepzil 10mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Nepzil 10mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Nepzil 10mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease is due to disturbance of message signals in the brain. Nepzil 10mg Tablet works by increasing the levels of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger involved in the transmission of nerve signals.
