Alchohol Interaction Mvit Capsule may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction Mvit Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Mvit Capsule during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Constipation, Urinary retention, Weight gain, Sleepiness, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Increased heart rate, Increased prolactin level in blood, Blurred vision, Dryness in mouth, Muscle rigidity, Tremor, Restlessness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mvit Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Mvit Capsule may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Mvit Capsule in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Mvit Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Mvit Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Mvit Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Flupenthixol and Melitracen which have anxiety-lowering and mood-elevating effects. Flupenthixol is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood. Melitracen is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.
