Alchohol Interaction Taking metformin with alcohol can cause lactic acidosis and you may experience malaise, respiratory distress, slow or irregular heartbeat, sleepiness, stomach upset, or other unusual symptoms.

Lactation Interaction Metmin-A Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Altered taste, Loss of appetite, Diarrhoea, Stomach pain, Vertigo, Dizziness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metmin-A Tablet is to be taken with food.Metmin-A Tablet may cause stomach upset if taken on empty stomach.
Driving Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is low or high. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Metmin-A Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Metmin-A Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Metmin-A Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Metmin-A Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Metmin-A Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Metformin and alpha lipoic acid which treat diabetic nerve disease. Metformin is a biguanide which decreases the production and absorption of sugar in your body, and allows better use of existing insulin. Alpha lipoic acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid which has a protective effect of brain and nerve tissue.
