Alchohol Interaction Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy Interaction Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.Use of Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule is not harmful in short-term because milk levels are low. Prolonged or repeated use may cause staining of babies dental enamel or bone deposition of Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule.
Common Side Effect Vomiting, Headache, Dizziness, Tiredness, Metallic taste, Stomach pain, Nausea, Dryness in mouth, Indigestion, Diarrhoea, Photosensitivity.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule is to be taken with food.Avoid Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule with dairy products such as milk, cheese, curd, butter, paneer and ice cream.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Kidney Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Meklin 400 mg/333 mg Capsule is a combination of two antibiotics: Metronidazole and Tetracycline. Metronidazole kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Tetracycline stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
