Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Headache, Increased liver enzymes, Allergic reaction, Decreased blood cell count.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.This will help to improve the efficacy of this medicine.Avoid Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.
Driving Not relevant, as Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet is intended for use in hospitalised patients.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
Mechanism of action Linid XT 500 mg/600 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Cefuroxime and Linezolid. Cefuroxime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Linezolid stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively.
