Naphazoline is a sympathomimetic-alpha 1 medicine which narrows the blood vessels in the eye, thereby reducing redness and swelling. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which works by narrowing blood vessels of the eye to relieve inflammation. Carboxymethylcellulose is a lubricating formulation similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief of burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye.
