Alchohol Interaction Taking a large amount of alcohol can increase acidity and cause acid reflux in the food pipe causing heartburn. This would decrease the effect of this drug and can aggravate your underlying condition.
Pregnancy Interaction Rabsum-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Rabsum-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Stomach pain, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Headache, Dizziness, Flatulence, Weakness, Increased saliva production, Flu-like symptoms.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rabsum-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule is to be taken empty stomach.Take it preferably 30 minutes before food.
Driving Rabsum-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Rabsum-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Kool-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Kool-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Rabsum-IT 20mg/150mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Rabeprazole and Itopride which relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Itopride is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract and helps food move more easily through the stomach.
