| How to Use | Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glim C Tablet is to be taken with food.Glim C Tablet may cause stomach upset if taken on empty stomach. |
| Driving | Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is low or high. If this happens, do not drive. |
| Kidney | Glim C Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Glim C Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Glim C Tablet is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advisable while you are taking this medicine. |
| Liver | Glim C Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Glim C Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Glim C Tablet is generally started with low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. |
| Mechanism of action | Glim C Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Metformin, gliclazide and chromium. Metformin is a biguanide which decreases the production and absorption of sugar in your body and allows better use of existing insulin. Gliclazide is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Chromium is a nutritional supplement which increases insulin sensitivity by protecting the integrity of insulin receptors and allowing effective binding of insulin. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar. |
