Alchohol Interaction Taking Paracetamol / Acetaminophen+Pentazocine with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy Interaction Fortagesic Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Fortagesic Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Dizziness, Sleepiness, Sweating.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fortagesic Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Fortagesic Tablet may cause sedation especially if taken with alcohol. This may impair your driving ability.
Kidney Fortagesic Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Fortagesic Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Fortagesic Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Fortagesic Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Fortagesic Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Paracetamol / Acetaminophen and Pentazocine which relieve severe pain. Paracetamol / Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain. Pentazocine is an opoid which works by blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.
