Alchohol Interaction Taking Metoprolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy Interaction Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Headache, Ankle swelling, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Slow heart rate, Tiredness, Stomach pain, Nausea, Edema (swelling), Constipation, Palpitations, Cold extremities.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet is recommended.
Liver Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Etolol AM 25/2.5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and metoprolol which lower blood pressure effectively. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels while metoprolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Together, they make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
