Alchohol Interaction Atenolol and alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy Interaction Espin-AT Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Espin-AT Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Headache, Nausea, Tiredness, Sleepiness, Dizziness, Palpitations, Slow heart rate, Abnormal dreams, Swelling of legs, Cold extremities, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk).
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Espin-AT Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.As patients taking Espin-AT Tablet may suffer from dizziness, headache, fatigue or nausea the ability to react may be impaired and this may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Espin-AT Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Espin-AT Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended and can help in better dose adjustment.
Liver Espin-AT Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Espin-AT Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Espin-AT Tablet is a combination of two medicines: S-Amlodipine and Atenolol which lower blood pressure effectively. S-Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels while Atenolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Together, they make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
