Alchohol Interaction Epalrica MP Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction Epalrica MP Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Epalrica MP Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Drowsiness, Dizziness, Tiredness, Uncoordinated body movements, Increased liver enzymes.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Epalrica MP Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.Take it preferably before meals
Driving Epalrica MP Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Epalrica MP Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Epalrica MP Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Epalrica MP Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Epalrica MP Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Epalrica MP Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Epalrestat, Methylcobalamin and Pregabalin which treat diabetic nerve disease. Epalrestat an aldose reductase inhibitor. It blocks the accumulation of sorbitol in cells, which causes diabetic nerve disease. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B which help in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Pregabalin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells.
