Pregnancy Interaction Elosone-TF Gel may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Elosone-TF Gel is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Elosone-TF Gel via licking.
Common Side Effect Application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching and redness), Skin thinning, Skin peeling.
How to Use Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Apply it on the affected area and allow it to stay before spitting or rinsing.
Driving Elosone-TF Gel does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Elosone-TF Gel is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Elosone-TF Gelmay not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Elosone-TF Gel is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Elosone-TF Gel may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Elosone-TF Gel is a combination of two medicines: Mometasone Topical and Terbinafine Topical which treat fungal skin infections. Mometasone Topical is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Terbinafine Topical is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
