Alchohol Interaction	Eldikof AM Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction	Eldikof AX Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction	No information is available on the use of Eldikof AM Syrup during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect	Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Stomach upset, Stomach pain, Loss of appetite, Dizziness, Headache, Rash, Urticaria, Allergic reaction, Sleepiness, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping).
How to Use	Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Eldikof AM Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.
Driving	Eldikof AX Syrup may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney	Eldikof AX Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Eldikof AM Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.Use of Eldikof AM Syrup may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver	Eldikof AM Syrup should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Eldikof AM Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action	Eldikof AX Syrupis a combination of four medicines: Ambroxol, guaifenesin, chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine which relieve dry cough. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which works by decreasing the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in their removal from the airways. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
