| Lactation Interaction | Dutam Plus Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby. |
| Expert Advice | The main dose should be taken at night as this drug may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for Dutam plus to start working. You should continue the treatment for at least 6 months after you feel better to stop depression from coming back. If your doctor asks you to stop Dutam plus, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks. You should not discontinue it abruptly. Avoid driving or operating machinery as it may decrease alertness. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Dutam plus, as it may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness. The addiction/dependence potential of Dutam plus is very less. It may be extremely dangerous in overdose. |
| Common Side Effect | Sleepiness, Increased heart rate, Weight gain, Difficulty in urination, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Dryness in mouth, Constipation. |
| How to Use | Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dutam Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. |
| Driving | Do not drive unless you are feeling well.As Dutam Plus Tablet may affect your alertness which may affect your ability to drive. |
| Kidney | Dutam Plus Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Dutam Plus Tablet is recommended. |
| Liver | Dutam Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dutam Plus Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine. Use of Dutam Plus Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. |
