Pregnancy Interaction Duronet Eye Drop may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Duronet Eye Drop is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.To reduce the amount of Duronet Eye Drop that reaches the breastmilk, place pressure over the corner of the eye for 1 minute or more, then remove the excess solution with an absorbent tissue.
Expert Advice Your doctor has prescribed Duronet to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) of the eye. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not use Duronet for more than the prescribed duration as it may cause glaucoma or secondary infection. May require frequent follow-ups with the doctor to monitor side effects. Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer. Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
Common Side Effect Blurred vision.
How to Use This medicine is for external use only.Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.
Driving Duronet Eye Drop may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Duronet Eye Drop in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver There is limited information available on the use of Duronet Eye Drop in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Duronet Eye Drop is a topical steroid (an anti-inflammatory medicine). It works by stopping the release of certain natural substances in the eye that are responsible for pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
