| Driving | Dizziness or weakness due to low blood pressure may occur in some patients while on Diacriptin M 0.8 mg/500 mg Tablet. If you are affected in this way, your ability to drive may be impaired. |
| Kidney | Diacriptin M 0.8 mg/500 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Diacriptin M 0.8 mg/500 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. |
| Liver | Diacriptin M 0.8 mg/500 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Diacriptin M 0.8 mg/500 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Diacriptin M 0.8 mg/500 mg Tablet is generally started with low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. |
| Mechanism of action | Diacriptin M 0.8 mg/500 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Bromocriptine and metformin.Bromocriptine is a dopamine agonist which lowers the elevated dopamine (chemical messenger in brain) levels. This reduces glucose production in the liver and lowers blood glucose levels. Metformin is a biguanide which decreases the production and absorption of glucose in your body and allows better use of existing insulin. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar. |
