Alchohol Interaction	Dec Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction	Dec Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction	No information is available on the use of Dec Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect	Nausea, Loss of appetite, Sleepiness, Headache, Allergic reaction.
How to Use	Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dec Tablet is to be taken with food.However, it is advisable to take it immediately after food.
Driving	Dec Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney	Dec Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Dec Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.Use of Dec Tablet may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver	Dec Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dec Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Dec Tablet in these patients.
Mechanism of action	Dec Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Guaifenesin, Diethylcarbamazine and Chlorpheniramine which treat parasitic infections. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm), helping in its removal from the airways. Diethylcarbamazine is an antiparasitic medicine which works by decreasing the muscular activity and causing paralysis of the worms. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which decreases the raised eosinophil count (white blood cells) and controls allergic symptoms like cough and breathlessness.
