Alchohol Interaction Taking phenylpropanolamine with alcohol can increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects such as increased heart rate, chest pain, or blood pressure changes.
Pregnancy Interaction Cetfast Cold Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Cetfast Cold Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Dryness in mouth, Dizziness, Fatigue, Palpitations, Increased blood pressure, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Allergic reaction, Sleepiness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cetfast Cold Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.
Driving Cetfast Cold Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Cetfast Cold Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cetfast Cold Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. May cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver Cetfast Cold Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Cetfast Cold Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Cetfast Cold Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Paracetamol / Acetaminophen, Phenylpropanolamine and Cetirizine which relieve common cold symptoms. Paracetamol / Acetaminophen is a analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that causes fever and pain. Phenylpropanolamine is a sympathomimetic agonist. It narrows blood vessels in the nose to relieve congestion. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.
