Alchohol Interaction Atenolol and alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy Interaction Cardif Beta 50 mg/10 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Cardif Beta 50 mg/10 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Sleepiness, Headache, Ankle swelling, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Slow heart rate, Tiredness, Palpitations, Nausea, Edema (swelling), Constipation, Cold extremities.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cardif Beta 50 mg/10 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Driving Cardif Beta 50 mg/10 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Cardif Beta 50 mg/10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cardif Beta 50 mg/10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended and can help in better dose adjustment.

Mechanism of action Cardif Beta 50 mg/10 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Atenolol and nitrendipine which lower blood pressure effectively. Atenolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate while nitrendipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels. Together, they make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
