Alchohol Interaction Taking aceclofenac with alcohol may increase risk of stomach bleeding.
Pregnancy Interaction Bextrin Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of Bextrin Capsule during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Heartburn, Diarrhoea, Loss of appetite, Indigestion, Stomach pain.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Bextrin Capsule is to be taken with food.
Driving Bextrin Capsule may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney Bextrin Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Bextrin Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Bextrin Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Bextrin Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Bextrin Capsule is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is advisable while the patient is taking this medicine.
Mechanism of action Bextrin Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Aceclofenac and Beta-Cyclodextrin which relieve pain. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Beta-Cyclodextrin enhances the effect of Aceclofenac.
