Pregnancy Interaction Bactofix LZ Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Bactofix LZ Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Diarrhoea, Nausea, Vomiting, Headache, Stomach pain, Flatulence, Decreased blood cell count, Dyspepsia.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Bactofix LZ Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Avoid Bactofix LZ Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.
Driving Bactofix LZ Tablet may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney Bactofix LZ Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Bactofix LZ Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Bactofix LZ Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Bactofix LZ Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Bactofix LZ Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Cefixime and Linezolid. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Linezolid stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively.
