Pregnancy Interaction Armilon 1mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Armilon 1mg Tablet is unsafe to use during lactation. \nData suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby, or the mother is suffering from a condition in which breastfeeding is not advisable.
Expert Advice Your doctor has prescribed Armilon to treat breast cancer. Armilon lowers estrogen production in your body and reduces the growth of hormone-sensitive tumours. Armilon can be taken with food or on an empty stomach with a glass of water or juice. Nausea (upset stomach) and hot flashes (sudden sweating and feelings of warmth) may occur on starting treatment with Armilon but should go away with time. If nausea is bothersome, take it after meal. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible if it is within 12 hours of the missed dose. If it is more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule.
Common Side Effect Headache, Hot flushes, Nausea, Skin rash, Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Osteoporosis, Weakness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Armilon 1mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Armilon 1mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Armilon 1mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Armilon 1mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Armilon 1mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.
Liver Armilon 1mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Armilon 1mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Limited information is available on the use of Armilon 1mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
Mechanism of action Armilon 1mg Tablet is an aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering the amount of estrogen (natural female hormone) produced in the body. This can lower or stop the growth of some breast cancer cells that need estrogen to grow.
