Pregnancy Interaction Zobone 5mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Zobone 5mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Expert Advice Taken once a year by a 15-minute infusion. Take calcium and vitamin D to help build your bones when taking Zobone. Do not take during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Zobone. Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw. This problem may be seen after dental work. Your doctor will monitor your response to Zobone by testing your bone mineral density (BMD). This is usually done every 1-3 years. Some patients develop fever or flu-like symptoms, such as chills, tiredness and weakness. These symptoms are usually mild-moderate and should go away after a few days. May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, and pain in bones, joints and muscles. May cause atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm). Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem.
Common Side Effect Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Headache, Heartburn, Difficulty in swallowing.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zobone 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Zobone 5mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney There is limited information available on the use of Zobone 5mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver There is limited information available on the use of Zobone 5mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Zobone 5mg Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It acts by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause the destruction of bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.
