Alchohol Interaction Taking a large amount of alcohol can increase acidity and cause acid reflux in the food pipe causing heartburn. This would decrease the effect of this drug and can aggravate your underlying condition.
Pregnancy Interaction Zecid DM Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Zecid DM Capsule is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Diarrhoea, Stomach pain, Dryness in mouth, Headache, Flatulence.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zecid DM Capsule is to be taken empty stomach.Take Zecid DM Capsule 30 minutes before food.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Zecid DM Capsule may cause dizziness and visual disturbances. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney Zecid DM Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zecid DM Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Zecid DM Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zecid DM Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Zecid DM Capsule is not recommended in patients with moderate and severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action Zecid DM Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Omeprazole which relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract and helps food move more easily through the stomach. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
