Alchohol Interaction AA HA Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction AA HA Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction No information is available on the use of AA HA Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Vomiting, Indigestion, Bloating, Stomach upset, Diarrhoea, Dizziness, Headache, Sweating, Skin rash.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. AA HA Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.
Driving AA HA Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney AA HA Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of AA HA Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver AA HA Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action AA HA Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Bromhexine, dextromethorphan and phenylephrine which relieve cough. Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
