Pregnancy Interaction Airtio 9mcg Inhaler may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Airtio 9mcg Inhaler is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.Monitor the baby for dry mouth, constipation, and urinary problems.
Expert Advice Talk to your doctor if you suffer from increased eyeball pressure (glaucoma), prostate problems, have difficulty passing urine or suffer from kidney diseases. Do not use tiotropium to treat a sudden attack of breathlessness in asthma or COPD. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop allergic reactions such as rash, swelling and breathlessness after administration of tiotropium. Do not allow the inhalation powder from capsule to enter your eye as this may worsen narrow angle glaucoma causing eye pain, blurred vision, seeing halos around lights, reddening of eyes etc.
Common Side Effect Headache, Nausea, Dizziness, Dryness in mouth, Cough, Throat irritation.
How to Use Check the label for directions before use. Shake the inhaler. While you are breathing in from mouth, press down on the inhaler one time to release the medication and hold your breath for 10 seconds. Repeat until you have inhaled the number of puffs as suggested by the doctor.Afterwards, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and spit it out.
Driving It is not known whether Airtio 9mcg Inhaler alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney Airtio 9mcg Inhaler is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Airtio 9mcg Inhaler is recommended.However, inform your doctor if you have underlying kidney disease. Close monitoring is advised while you are taking this medicine.
Liver Airtio 9mcg Inhaler is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Airtio 9mcg Inhaler is recommended.
Mechanism of action Airtio 9mcg Inhaler works by decreasing the activity of acetylcholine on the lung. This relaxes and opens up the air passages to make breathing easier.
