Alchohol Interaction ADGABA AT TABLET may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction ADGABA AT TABLET may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction ADGABA AT TABLET is probably unsafe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Constipation, Difficulty in urination, Weight gain, Sleepiness, Dizziness, Tiredness, Blurred vision, Dryness in mouth, Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), Increased heart rate, Uncoordinated body movements.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. ADGABA AT TABLET may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Do not drive unless you are feeling well.As ADGABA AT TABLET may affect your alertness which may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney ADGABA AT TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of ADGABA AT TABLET may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver ADGABA AT TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of ADGABA AT TABLET may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine. Use of ADGABA AT TABLET is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action ADGABA AT TABLET is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin and Nortriptyline. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline) that stop the movement of pain signals in the brain. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
