Alchohol Interaction Taking trimethoprim with alcohol may cause unpleasant side effects such as tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting, fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, .
Pregnancy Interaction Tmp 300mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Tmp 300mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. \nHuman studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.There may be a possibility of skin rash in the baby.
Expert Advice Trimethoprim can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors. Before you take trimethoprim tablets or suspension, tell your doctor: If you suffer from kidney problems. If you have a deficiency (are low) in folic acid. If you are at greater risk of high levels of potassium in your blood (hyperkalemia), e.g. the elderly or those on higher doses. If you are also taking repaglinide (medicine for treating diabetes). Do not take trimethoprim if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. You may be required to undergo regular blood tests if you need long-term treatment or are prone to anaemia. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of these adverse effects. fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, sores in your mouth and throat. pale skin, easy bruising, unusual bleeding (nose, mouth, vagina, or rectum), purple/red pinpoint spots under your skin. signs of high pottasium levels (slow heart rate, weak pulse, muscle weakness, tingly feeling). severe headache with muscle cramps, confusion, weakness, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady, and weak or shallow breathing.

How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tmp 300mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Driving Tmp 300mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Tmp 300mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tmp 300mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Tmp 300mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver Tmp 300mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tmp 300mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Tmp 300mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with the severe liver disease.
Mechanism of action Tmp 300mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication.
