Alchohol Interaction Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy Interaction Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Stomach upset, Sleepiness.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.
Driving Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Solvin 30mg/4mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Chlorpheniramine and Dextromethorphan which relieve dry cough. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which helps reduce cough associated with allergies by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger, histamine. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant which relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain.
