Alchohol Interaction Taking Hydrochlorothiazide with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy Interaction Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation Interaction Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. \nLimited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Common Side Effect Nausea, Altered taste, Diarrhoea, Stomach pain, Indigestion, Weakness, Headache, Dizziness, Cough, Increased blood uric acid, Increased blood lipid level, Glucose intolerance, Decreased blood pressure.
How to Use Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Driving Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for dose adjustment.
Liver Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Mechanism of action Sartace H 2.5 mg/50 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Ramipril, Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide which lower blood pressure effectively. Ramipril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by reducing stress on the heart and relaxing blood vessels. Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) which blocks the hormone angiotensin thereby further relaxing blood vessels. Together, they allow the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
